- No. 426-Begonia (unknown parentage) 'Calca' Named by the originator, Mrs. Mickey Meyer, Yuppara St., Tathra, N.S.W., Australia, using the aboriginal word for 'Star', this cultivar came from the same seed pod as B. 'Mara' which follows. Leaves are apple green, very starred, black in blotches, 3 1/2 " x 5 1/2 ", margined with short white eyelash, texture crisp, standing erect, with six nerves. The flowers of this rhizomatous begonia emerge green but open to a white/pink, closely arranged in several bunches oh 10 inch stems, blooming spring through autumn. Registered Sept. 25, 1974.
