- No. 252 - Begonia ('Bow-nigra' x boweri nigramarga) 'Robert Shatzer'- B. 'Robert Shatzer' was originated by Edna M. Stewart, R.D. 2, Box 16 491, Tarentum, Pa., in 1967, and was first distributed at the 1968 Eastern Convention. A rhizomatous Begonia, it has leaves of cordate shape, 4" x 2½", margin serrate, white hairy edge, of smooth texture and satin sheen, pale green with few red dots, pale sinus, dark blackred areas along veins, underside dark mahogany red, bright emerald green between and underside pale green; petioles and stipules pale green with red dots.
