Description
Vigorous growing cultivar with deeply cleft and vividly patterned leaves; No. 717-Begonia (B. 'Helene Jaros' x B. 'Helene Jaros') 'General Landon' Rhizomatous. Leaves are yellow-green with chocolate-brown hash marks, cleft, with overlapping basal lobes, smooth and succulent, 4" X 4", with 6 pale green veins and ciliate margin; petioles red, hairy; stipules yellow, chartaceous. Flowers are pink, ¾", with 2 male and 2 female tepals, blooming in spring. B. 'Gen­eral Landon', unlike its difficult parent, is a vigorous grower and is distinguished by deeply cleft, vividly patterned leaves. Originated in 1977 by Kit Jeans, Rt. 1, New Johnsonville, TN 37134; first bloomed and was distributed in 1979. Registered July 14, 1979.
