Description
Moore Seed Company, Moore Seed Co.'s seed buyer's guide, Philadelphia, Pa. 1912. http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/bibliography/101864 BEGONIA GRACILIS MIGNON - Mignon is a dwarf and compact growing variety of Begonia Gracilis and ranks in size between it and the Dwarf Vernon. Not exceeding 7 or 8 inches in height, the plants branch so freely that they form almost globular bushes 8 to 10 inches across, which are profusely covered with brilliant blooms of a fiery scarlet red, the effect of which is considerably heightened by the prominent yellow anthers. The foliage, of a sort dark green, spotted and bordered with bronzy red, forms an effective background to the scarlet of the flowers. Begonia Mignon comes true from seed and Is of perfectly even growth. We can strongly recommend it for all kinds of bedding purposes, the formation of lines and edgings more especially. Pkt. 25c, 5 pkts. $1,00; Weeber & Don, Garden, farm and flower seeds - New York, N.Y. 1913. http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/bibliography/106173 BEGONIA GRACILIS MIGNON Not exceeding 7 to 8 inches in height, the plants branch so freely, that they form almost globular bushes 8 to 10 inches across, which are profusely covered with brilliant blooms of a fiery scarlet red, with prominent golden yellow anthers.
