- Description
- There is a description with an illustration of 1) Marie Boucher, 2) Clovis, 3)Dinha Félix, and 4)Louis Boucher in 'Revue horticole', 1879; Reference from 'The Garden', 29 Nov 1879: "New Tuberous Begonias for 1879". ...Among the double-flowered varieties, those sent out by Monsieur Boucher, of Billancourt, near Paris, deserve the first place as the most vigorous and satisfactory growers of any doubles yet sent out, being of upright and freely branching habit of growth, much resembling that of the old boliviensis; they were obtained from some chance seed obtained, without any care of fertilisation, from a slightly semi-double variety, of English origin, named Dr. Moore. They are five in number, named... Dinah Félix, light carmine with very fully developed duplicature, perhaps the finest of this beautiful set... Four of these fine varieties are well and accurately figured in the coloured plate of the number of the "Revue Horticole" for August 16, 1879.
