Description
Very small, delicate plant with globular tubercles 2-3 mm in diameter. Petiole thick 5-15 mm; leaf blade 5-7-palmatinerve orbicularis broadly oval 0.8-1.6 / 0.8-1.4 cm broadly cordate or truncate at base; denteous edges; wide teeth obtuse at the top; upper side of the limb with spiculiform hairs 1.5 mm long, inferior glabrous; finely marked ribs. Stipules tapered, subulate, 2 mm long. Bisexual inflorescence once or twice branched; peduncle 3-4 cm long, bearing at the top 2 acute lanceolate bracts at the top. MALE flowers with pedicel 2 mm long; 2 pale pink, oval tepals, 2.5 mm long and wide. Stamens 4-5, with threads welded in a column of 0.2 mm; obtuse oblong antheres at the apex and subsessile base. FEMALE flowers have 2 oval tepals similar to those of MALE flowers. Ovary oblong: styles 3, 2 mm, a little welded at the base, short bifid at the top; stigma thick arch, twisted inward at the tip. Small, suborbicular capsule 5 mm in diameter, pendulous, slightly compressed with unequal wings, fine, the widest 2 mm wide and well rounded; wings with transverse reticulum very fine. - PJ. 4 p. 23.
