- Herba minima acaulis, foliis petiolo tenuissimo, 1-3 cm longo, glabro, limbo trilobo 3,5-3 cm, superne brevi pilis sparse ornato, inferne glabro. Cymis 2-4 floribus, pedunculis 3-5 cm, bractea unica acuta, pedicelli gracillimis. Florum MALE tepala lactea 4 (3 X 2 mm), interna angustiora. Stamina 8, filamenti liberis in columnam 5 mm basi connatis, antherarum connectivo apiculato ultra loculos breve producto. Florum FEMALE tepala 6, ovata (4-5 X 2 mm), 3 intema breviora; styli 3 integri, stigmatibus globulis; ovarium roseum trialatum. Capsula matura n.v. Plant very small, acaule. Leaves very fine petiole, glabrous, 1-3 cm long; blade of 3.5 X 3 cm, trilobe up to 2/3 of its length; triangular lobes, acute at the apex, very attenuated and wedge to the petiole, 5-7 mm wide at their base, the median lobe bearing a tooth on each side; teeth 5 mm long; the two lateral lobes have a single tooth on their outer edge; upper surface of the limb sprinkled with a few very short hairs, pale green, lower gregarous face and paler green; 3 veins at the base of the Iimbe, barely marked below. Stipules not seen. Inflorescence in biparous cymes, branched once, pauciflora, with 2-4 pink flowers; common peduncle fine, 3-5 cm long, glabrous; triangular bractee, acute, 2 mm long; pedicel very thick, 3-5 mm long. MALE flowers has 4 tepals of 3 X 2 mm, the internal ones are narrower, oblong, whitish. Stamens 8, with loose threads, 1 mm long; antheres united at the top of a small column of 0.5 mm long, obovate, 1 mm long, connective finely apiceaxing the boxes. FEMALE flowers have 6 tepals, of 4-5 X 2 mm, the 3 smaller internals. 0val pink, triaile, the largest rounded wing, 4 X 4 mm; styles 3, whole, undivided at the top; globular stigma. Caspule not seen. - Pl. 3, p. 21. This very small Begonia was harvested only once and has long flowered in the Botanical Garden of Tzimbazaza in Tananarivo or Bosser photography. It seems that the plant is now gone in cultivation.
