- The Gardeners' chronicle, ser. 3, v. 21 (1897) Though this show may be said to be rather too early for tuberous Begonias to be exhibited in the perfect condition they acquire in summer, owing to the great efforts put forth by those who make of them a specialty, there is always a glorious display, and. the present show was by no means an exception in this respect. The Begonias from Messrs. J. Laing & Sons, Forest Hill, London, S. E., were finely grown plants, with good foliage and large blossoms of good substance. They were arranged with an undulating surface, and a few Ferns were interspersed, in addition to the Isolepis that was used as a margin. British Flag, a large single flowered yellow; Clio, pale yellow, double; Diamond Jubilee, a deeper yellow, also double; and Dr. Jim, bright. red double, were very fine.
